The tactician has emerged as a candidate for a coaching position at Ayr United FC.
Real Kashmir FC head coach David Robertson has been linked with a move to Ayr United FC, a club that plays in the Scottish Championship, the second-division of Scotland’s professional league.
The tactician is among the probable candidates who have been identified to take charge at Ayr United, who are struggling at the ninth place, second from last in league standings.
David Robertson is into his fourth year as the boss at Real Kashmir FC and the club has reaped rewards under his guidance. Their recent form is testament to his work with the club. The Snow Leopards were able to finish in third-place during Phase 1 of the ongoing I-League season.
The Phase 2 will see the Kashmir-based outfit challenge other five teams for the league title. Under David Robertson, the Snow Leopards have come leaps and bounds since their Second Division League-winning season back in 2017, which earned them promotion.
The 52-year-old has emerged as one of the best coaches in the I-League and the club must do everything in their power to keep a hold of him. In a scenario Robertson moves back to his home nation of Scotland, it will be a huge loss to Real Kashmir’s ambitions.
The Aberdeen-born tactician has overseen 68 matches in all competitions with the Snow Leopards, during which he has won 33, drawn 21 and lost 14 games. A winning percentage of 48.52% is definitely impressive, considering the humble beginnings of the club.
Ayr United are desperately looking for a replacement to their former manager Mark Kerr, who left with mutual consent after a poor run of form recently. The chairman David Smith has intensified the search for a replacement and according to Record Sport, David Robertson is interested in taking up the position.
The former Rangers defender is open to the idea of moving back to Scotland and help the Honest Men revive their season. It will be a nerve-wracking situation for the fans of Real Kashmir, who will hope for the club to retain the coach.
