The Frenchman is leading the league’s scoring charts with 18 goals.

A significant setback for Real Madrid ahead of their return from the winter break is that Kylian Mbappe will likely miss some time due to a knee injury.

At Valdebebas, his absence will be felt deeply. Real Madrid’s number 10 has played in nearly every game since the season began, scoring 27 goals in LaLiga and Champions League contests.

Mbappe had been treating a knee ligament injury for a few weeks, first thinking it was a minor problem that could be played through, according to L’Equipe. But an MRI on Wednesday morning revealed a ligament lesion that will now need to be treated, and the player will be rested for at least three weeks.

The results made Kylian Mbappe face the fact that he will be out for a long time now, especially after feeling constrained in his acceleration throughout recent games.

There had been warning indications. During Real Madrid’s Champions League match against Manchester City, Kylian Mbappe was conspicuously left as an unused substitute. The forward has been told to rest to prevent a more serious long-term problem, despite his competitive nature.
