If I face Mbappe in Champions League final, we will beat him: Antonio Rudiger
Mbappe’s PSG will face Dortmund in UCL semi-final
In the Champions League final, should Real Madrid face Paris Saint-Germain, Antonio Rudiger has promised to “smash” Kylian Mbappe.
If Real Madrid wins over Bayern Munich in the semifinals and Paris Saint-Germain advances past Borussia Dortmund on the reverse side of the draw, this historic European matchup may take place at Wembley on June 1.
In addition to guaranteeing a matchup between two titans of Europe, this matchup also features the intriguing prospect of matching Mbappe against his potential future club. It is widely anticipated that the French striker will join the Spanish capital on a free transfer after his current deal with PSG runs out on June 30.
However, Rudiger told Le Media Carre that he is not in the mood to be kind to his prospective teammate should their paths cross:
“If we face him in the final, we’ll beat him. And if he passes [i.e. dribbles] me, I’ll smash him.”
The German defender did, however, express his excitement over the possibility of the 2018 World Cup victor joining the Spanish powerhouse, given the team has a long history of drawing elite players.

The best players in history have always come to Real Madrid. He’s one of the best players in the world, so it would be a good match,” he said.
He grinned as he responded to a query concerning the rumours of Mbappe’s impending arrival: Who says that he’s (Mbappe) coming, it’s not official.”
Tuesday night at Allianz Arena, Rudiger will face off in the first leg of Real Madrid’s semi-final matchup with Bayern Munich, while Mbappe will play the next day in Germany against Borussia Dortmund.
If both sides can defeat their German opponents in the competition’s last four stages, the emphasis will turn to the potential for a high-stakes matchup between the two superstars in the Champions League final on June 1.
