India will take on Bangladesh on June 6

India are set to face Bangladesh in the SAFF Women’s Championship 2026 final, which is scheduled to take place on June 6, 2026, at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa.

The hosts will lock horns against the defending champions, who have only lost to them in the tournament.

The Blue Tigresses will aim to record their sixth title on their home turf. On the other side, the Bangladesh national team will try to defend the crown against an in-form India side.

The Stakes

India

Crispin Chettri’s team have been in excellent form, going unbeaten in the group stage, scoring a total of 14 goals. They registered a narrow 1-0 win over Bhutan to make their way to the final.

India registered a convincing 11-0 victory against the Maldives to kick off the campaign on a fashionable note. Aveka Singh put four past the Maldives side while Priyangka Devi Naorem, Karishma Purushottam Shirvoikar, Grace Dangmei, Karishma Purushottam Shirvoikar, and Sangita Basfore were on target to seal a big win.

The Blue Tigresses secured another crucial victory against rivals Bangladesh. They defeated the defending champions by a 3-0 scoreline to finish the group stage at the top of the table.

In the semi-final, India edged out Bhutan to reach the final. Sanfida Nongrum’s solitary strike proved to be the difference as they remain unbeaten and qualify for the title decider.

Bangladesh

Bangladesh kicked off their SAFF Women’s Championship 2026 journey with a 4-2 win over the Maldives. However, they succumbed to a 0-3 defeat against the hosts but qualified for the knockouts, finishing next to India in the table.

The defending champions knocked out Nepal by a 2-1 scoreline to reach the finals for a second consecutive time.

The Bangladesh women’s national team will aim for revenge this time against the Blue Tigresses. The defending champions were defeated by Chettri’s team in the group stage, but it could be an entirely different picture when both sides meet in the title decider.

Team News

Both India and Bangladesh will have their strongest squads available for the SAFF Women’s Championship 2026 final, with no major injury concerns or suspensions affecting either side ahead of the title clash.
