Farukh Choudhary, Ishan Pandita guide India to 2-0 win over Mohammedan SC
The Men in Blue scored both the goals in the second-half of the game.
The Indian football team beat Mohammedan Sporting Club 2-0 to continue their preparation for the Nepal friendlies. The Men in Blue faced Mohammedan SC in a preseason friendly as they prepare for their upcoming two international friendly matches against Nepal as well as the SAFF Championships. The match was played at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata. India have been undergoing a national camp in Kolkata since August 16.
Farukh Choudhary and Ishan Pandita were on the scoresheet for India as they comfortably overcame a 10-man Mohammedan SC, who had to play the majority of the second half with a man less after Manoj Mohammad was shown a second yellow. Both sides struggled and heavy rain lashed the stadium. But the Men in Blue were still the superior team and found the net twice in the second half to make it consecutive wins in friendlies.

Earlier, Igor Stimac's side beat IFA XI 1-0 in their previous friendly match with Akash Mishra scoring the only goal. It was the first practise game for the Indian football team and was therefore played for only 50 minutes, with each half running for 25 minutes each. Stimac played all 24 members of his squad in that game and will be doing the dame against Mohammedan SC.

With Gurpreet and Amrinder Singh yet to join the national camp, Dheeraj Singh was once given an opportunity between the sticks, while Narender Gahlot and Jeakson Singh started as the two centre-backs in the playing XI. Young Rahim Ali led the line for the Men in Blue with Bipin Singh and Yasir Mohammad on either flanks.
Meanwhile, the India national team started their 15-day training camp in Kolkata with a 24-member squad.
