Mumbay FC are ready to play their final group stage game of Durand Cup 2026 as they take on Nongkseh SS CC at the Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium, Shillong. The match is scheduled to kickoff at 7:00 pm IST with both Mumbay FC and Nongkseh SS CC searching for a win heading into their last game.

There is not much in this game, in terms of qualification for playoffs. However, Bollywood star Tiger Shroff has been registered in Mumbay FC’s squad for Durand Cup 2026, and it was earlier reported that he will play the last group stage game for Mumbay FC.

Will we see Tiger Shroff take the field tonight?

When the news broke that Tiger Shroff has been registered for the Durand Cup, a wave of excitement was seen among both Indian football fans and neutral fans. It was also reported that he will be travelling later to Shillong and will feature in the last group stage game on 11th August.

However, now this will not be the case. Tiger Shroff shared a video message on Mumbay FC’s Instagram page where he confirmed that he will not be able to travel to Shillong and play for his team Mumbay FC citing work commitments and also apologized to the fans who were looking forward to his arrival.

Tiger Shroff said, “Hi everyone, Tiger Shroff here. Really, really unfortunate, but a work commitment has come up last moment, so I won’t be able to make it to Shillong for the Durand Cup. I was really looking forward to playing for my team Mumbay FC, but unfortunately, I won’t be able to make it as I said, I just wanted to say that all the very best to everybody out there. The tournament has been amazing so far.” 

“I’m going to do everything in my power to support you guys as best of my capability. But there’s so much young talent and with the right support and opportunities, I truly believe Indian football can do wonders. So, until then, I just wanted to wish my team all the very best. Mumbay FC, kill it boys!” 

So, this means that we will not see Tiger Shroff play for Mumbay FC against Nongkseh SS CC tonight at the JLN Stadium, Shillong.

The Durand Cup 2026 clash between Mumbay FC and Nongkseh SS CC will take place at the JLN Stadium, Shillong on Tuesday, 11th August (2026).

The match will kick off at 7:00 PM IST and will be livestreamed on Sony LIV and will be broadcasted live on Sony Ten 2.
