AIFF introduces Baby League in West Bengal
The competition will have three divisions for nine, eleven and thirteen-year-olds.
Baby League 'Liga Prodogio' was announced in the presence of club presidents from both Mohun Bagan and East Bengal. East Bengal president, Pranab Dasgupta and Mohun Bagan president Gitanath Ganguly came together to commence the Baby League creating an auspicious moment at the Calcutta Journalist's Club right after the Kolkata Derby. Among the other guests, there were East Bengal vice-president Dr. Santiranjan, Arjuna award winner former footballer Subrata Bhattacharya, Indian footballer, Md. Rafique and league operator and AIFF match comissioner Aparup Chakraborty.
There will be three divisions for nine, eleven and thirteen-year-olds. The main motive of the league is to develop an interest towards the sport from an early age. The league's name will be Liga Prodogio, the operator said, "It is an opportunity for the kids to have fun and to play football in an healty environment. They need to learn these things from an early age and the league provides a platform for that."

Both the presidents of respective clubs exchanged their gratitude via exchanging flower bouquets and scarfs, thus creating a very auspicious moment. Later former football, Subrata Bhattacharya said, "its a great initiative and it will play a vital role in nurturing young players. I am ready to support the league in any way i can".
