AFC U-17 Women's Asian Cup 2026: Updated points table, most goals after India vs Japan

India lost 3-0 to Japan in AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup 2026
The India U-17 women’s football team could not manage to get a positive result out of their second match of the AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup 2026 campaign against Japan. The Japanese side defeated India with a scoreline of 3-0 with all goals coming in the second half. This now means that India is now on 0 point after 2 defeats in the campaign so far.
Japan were held strongly by the Indian team in the first half of the match for a 0-0 scoreline but as soon as the second half started the floodgates opened up as usual.
The scoreline isn’t bad compared to Lebanon’s defeat against Japan earlier with a scoreline of 13-0, but the problem that now arises is that in the other game of group B, the Lebanon team managed to get a 1-1 draw against the mighty Aussies making opening up Lebanon’s points tally.
As India now faces Lebanon next in a do or die match, let us look at the updated points table after the match between India and Japan.
A brief look at the points table

| Position | Team | Matches Played | Wins | Draws | Loss | GD | Points |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Japan | 2 | 2 | 0 | 0 | +16 | 6 |
| 2 | Australia | 2 | 1 | 1 | 0 | +2 | 4 |
| 3 | Lebanon | 2 | 0 | 1 | 1 | -13 | 1 |
| 4 | India | 2 | 0 | 0 | 2 | -5 | 0 |
After suffering their second defeat in two matches, India dropped from third place to the bottom of the Group B points table with 0 point. Meanwhile, Lebanon climbed above them to third spot after securing an impressive draw against Australia earlier in the day making their points tally to 1.
Japan continues to dominate the group with 6 points at the top, while Australia sits second with 4 points.
India now face a massive final group-stage clash against Lebanon, with qualification hopes hanging by a thread. Only a win will keep their chances alive to qualify further in the tournament.
