When and where to watch AFC Women's Asian Cup 2026 draw live?

AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 Draw will take place at Sydney Town Hall tomorrow
The race to become the champions of Asia will begin tomorrow at the harbour city of Sydney in Australia. The twelve best teams from all across the length and breadth of Asia have gone through a rigorous qualification round to book their spot in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026.
Scheduled to take place from March 1 to 21, 2026, the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026 will be staged across Sydney, Perth, and the Gold Coast, including in stadiums that witnessed the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023, as the tournament returns Down Under for the first time since 2006.
Runners-up in 1980 and 1983, India will make their first appearance in the tournament since 2003 after a historic qualification campaign saw the Blue Tigresses emerge as toppers of Group B of the Qualifiers, defeating Thailand, Iraq, Timor-Leste, and Mongolia earlier this month.

Who can be India’s opponents in AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026?

For the pot allocations for the Final Draw, the seeding is based on the latest FIFA Women’s World Ranking (as of June 12). India, ranked 70th, are placed in Pot 4, and will be drawn against either Australia, Japan, or DPR Korea from Pot 1, China, Korea Republic, or Vietnam from Pot 2, and the Philippines, Chinese Taipei, or Uzbekistan from Pot 3.
Based on the latest FIFA rankings, all twelve teams have been placed in four different pots. Pot 1 has the top-ranked Asian teams like hosts Australia, Japan and the Democratic Republic of Korea. Pot 2 contains the two finalists from the last edition, China and South Korea, alongside Vietnam.
Pot 3 has the Philippines, Chinese Taipei and Uzbekistan, while Pot 4 has relatively lower-ranked teams like India, Iran and Bangladesh. One team from each of the four different pots will be grouped to ensure the balance of a group remains intact.
The fate of all twelve teams competing for not just top Asian honours but also a chance to make it to the FIFA Women’s World Cup is also at stake in this tournament. The group winners, along with the runners-up and the two best third-placed teams, will have a shot to make it to the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 in Brazil.
India’s pride, Sangita Basfore, will be one of the draw assistants tomorrow
The 29-year-old Indian international from Kalyani, who recently won the Indian Women’s League with East Bengal FC, will be one of the draw assistants tomorrow alongside Australia’s Tameka Yallop and the Republic of Korea’s Jeon Yu-gyeong.
Head coach Crispin Chhetri and Sangita Basfore, who scored a brace against Thailand to propel India into the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2027, will be in attendance tomorrow to represent the hopes of 1.4 billion people of India.
Tomorrow is a historic day for not just Indian women’s football but for the entire football fraternity in this nation. At a time when the men’s team have been going through turbulent times, the women’s team has not just sparked hopes but is now the closest ever to redeeming India’s dream of playing in the FIFA World Cup.
