About the team

The Chinese Taipei women’s national football team initially played as the Republic of China women’s team in the 1970s, before renaming themselvesthe Chinese Taipei national women’s team in the 1980s. They actually competed in the OFC (Oceania Football Confederation) in the 1980s, even winning the FOC Women’s Championship Twice, before readmitting to the AFC (Asian Football Confederation) in 1989.

The Chinese Taipei women’s national team have opted against playing any matches in 2026 in preparation to the AFC Women’s Asian Cup. However, they did compete in a variety of different matches in 2025, which included winning all their AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualification matches in style.
