Zohib Islam Amiri, a prominent Afghan footballer, has left a lasting impression on the Indian football scene with his versatility and skill. Throughout his club football career, Amiri has showcased his talent playing for various renowned clubs in India. He started with Mumbai FC, demonstrating his defensive capabilities early on.
Over the years, he continued to impress, representing teams like Dempo, DSK Shivajians, Chennai City FC, Gokulam Kerala, and Real Kashmir. His adaptability and consistency made him a valuable asset for these clubs.
Notably, Amiri also ventured into the inaugural campaign of the Indian Super League with FC Goa, adding to his diverse experience in Indian football.
Sharif Mukhammad
Sharif Mukhammad, hailing from Afghanistan but born in Russia, has carved his opportunity in the second division of Indian football with his dynamic midfield presence.
Currently, Mukhammad contributes his skills to Churchill Brothers in the I-League. His adeptness in midfield has been pivotal for the team. Prior to his stint with Churchill Brothers, Mukhammad spent two seasons at Gokulam Kerala from 2020 to 2022.
He showcased his ability to control the midfield, created scoring opportunities and was instrumental in his side’s success under Vincenzo Alberto Annese. His lanky frame and agility on the field allowed him to dominate midfield battles and dictate the tempo of the game.
