AIFF warn clubs over undisclosed player agreements.

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) on a recently released circular dated 24th August to all member associations of AIFF have urged them to upload side letters and allied contractual documents alongside player employment contracts on the AIFF Centralised Registration System (CRS), making it mandatory.

This circular was issued after the recent decision by the AIFF Players’ Status Committee in the matter of Dom Sahil Krishna Tavora v. Jindal Football Private Limited.

To make sure that there is transparency in player contracts and to avoid any further problems regarding contracts, this decision has been taken as the teams have now been directed accordingly.

In this article we take a look at the key takeaways from this circular by AIFF.

Under the newly issued regulations by AIFF, the clubs have now been directed to upload every side letter, player bonus agreement, image rights agreement or any other financial agreements.

This has now been made mandatory alongside the primary Player Employment Agreement.

It said, “All affiliated clubs must mandatorily upload every side letter, player bonus agreement, image rights agreement, addendum, or separate financial arrangement executed with a player directly onto the AIFF Centralised Registration System (CRS), alongside the primary Player Employment Agreement.”

Directs immediate implementation

AIFF has also directed all the clubs to take the necessary steps immediately and implement the regulation as soon as possible.

They have also made it clear that this also applies to all the transfers that took place in this summer transfer window so far (June to August 2026).

And in case any club has failed to do so for the recent signings, they can contact the Players’ Status and Registration Department (PSRD) for assistance in uploading the missing documents.

“The mandatory uploading of all such accompanying documents and side letters shall take effect immediately and shall strictly apply to all transactions registered during the ongoing transfer window from June to August 2026.”

“In case a Club has failed to upload any such documents, it shall contact the Players’ Status and Registration Department (PSRD) for assistance in uploading the missing documents.”

Sanctions in case of any failures

AIFF has clearly warned all the clubs that if the needed documents are not uploaded on CRS in the given time, it will be taken as a violation and that particular club shall be subject to disciplinary proceedings and sanctions.

“Any failure, suppression, concealment, or omission by a club to upload complete contractual documents and side letters on the CRS shall be deemed a violation of the AIFF regulations and procedural norms, rendering the concerned entity subject to appropriate disciplinary proceedings and sanctions”, it concluded with.
