Cafu will visit Bangladesh to promote the AFB Latin-Bangla Super Cup 2025!

Bangladeshi football is living through one of its most exciting chapters yet. The men’s team’s return to the SAFF Championship semi-finals in 2023 after more than a decade signaled real progress on the pitch. The Bangladesh Women’s football team have also won the SAFF Women’s Championship back-to-back in 2022 and 2024, showing their prowess.

Within the nation, there is a new sense of belief running through their game — a feeling that Bangladesh is no longer just competing, but genuinely growing into a footballing force in South Asia. That momentum was further boosted by Leicester City midfielder Hamza Choudhary, who made his long-awaited debut for the Bangladesh men’s national team earlier this year.

Amidst the positivity, Bangladesh has another spectacle in the name of the AFB Latin-Bangla Super Cup 2025. Set to be played in December, youth clubs from Argentina and Brazil are set to come into the country for a three-game tournament.

All about the AFB Latin-Bangla Super Cup 2025!

Chiefly organised and promoted by the AFB Boxing Promotion International Limited, Bangladesh is set to host the Latin-Bangla Super Cup between 5th and 11th December 2025. Brazil’s World Cup-winning captain Cafu is also set to come to the country for the tournament.

Bangladesh’s U-20 side will go up against youth teams from Brazil’s Sao Bernardo FC and Argentina’s Atletico Sarlone FC. The tournament will be played at the National Stadium in Dhaka.

The young Bangla tigers will play the Brazilian side on 5th December and the Argentine club on 8th December. On 11th December, the two Latin American clubs will play each other to conclude the tournament.

If successful, this tournament will certainly garner more eyes towards Bangladeshi football, something that will further bring in development for the game within the region.

Cafu all set, an Argentine legend to join him in Bangladesh!

The organisers have confirmed that Cafu will be arriving in Bangladesh for the AFB Latin-Bangla Super Cup 2025. The 1994 and 2002 FIFA World Cup winner is the only player in the world to play three consecutive World Cup finals.

Cafu is expected to arrive in Dhaka on 11th December to watch the match between Sao Bernardo FC and Atletico Sarlone FC. It is not about how long the Brazilian will stay within the country when he lands next month.

Joining Cafu will be an Argentine football legend, whose identity is yet to be confirmed by the organisers. As per sources, Juan Sebastian Veron, Gabriel Batistuta, and Claudio Caniggia are the names that are currently in talks with the organisers.
