Indian Football Calendar 2024: Major tournaments to look forward to in July

Durand Cup will return as Indian Football gears up for a new season.

After some drama in the last couple of days, Indian football will now move forward to a new season. With commitments from players clubs as well as management, there will be some interesting matches to be witnessed in the coming days. 

The biggest event that marks July month will be the Durand Cup which is scheduled to start in the final week of the month. The Futsal Club Championships and the Junior Girls 2024-25 National Football Championship will also be a part of the month that promises to be an exciting one. 

Here is the list of tournaments that are slated to take place in July 2024. 

Durand Cup 2024

According to the yearly calendar shared months ago with a list of football events for the next 12 months, the Durand Cup was named the first tournament to begin the new season. To date, it is known that the mage event will begin on the 27th of July but the schedules haven’t been shared till now. 

The 133rd edition will have 24 teams participating in it, including teams from Indian Super League (ISL) and I-League. These teams will be divided into six groups and the matches will be played in a league cum knockout format. 

AIFF Futsal Club Championship

The AIFF Futsal Club Championship which began on the month of June is holding strong with the group stage fixtures. The tournament which features 19 teams will end on the 5th of July. After the group stage, the top teams of all four groups will get into the semi-final round.

Junior Girls National Football Championship 2024-25 (Tier – 2)

The AIFF Junior Girls National Football Championship 2024-25 will begin on July 27, 2024. In the last season, Goa clinched the title while Andhra Pradesh remained in second place. 

• July 27, 2024 – 9 August, 2024

Junior Boys’ Dr. B.C. Roy Trophy National Football Championship 2024-25

The AIFF Junior Boys National Football Championship 2024-25 will also begin from 27 July 2024. 16 teams are divided into four groups that will compete for the title. 

• July 27, 2024 – 12, August 2024
