Indian Football Calendar 2024: Matches to watch in November
The Indian football will be in action this month.
October has been a mixed month for Indian Football. The Indian Super League (ISL) has produced scintillating results and unearthed new talents in the Indian football horizons. On the other end, Indian Football team yet again came out winless in their latest encounter against Vietnam during the International break as the game ended 1-1.
India, however, opened their goalscoring account after the month of March earlier this year thanks to Farukh Choudhary who scored an equalizer chipping over the host goalkeeper at the Thien Truong Stadium in Nam Dinh in Vietnam.
Moreover, the bad news came from the Asian Champions League 2 (ACL 2) game where Mohun Bagan Super Giant were kicked out of the competition as they failed to show up against Tractor S.C. in the city of Tabriz, Iran.
The Kolkata-based club decided not to travel given the tense situation in the Middle East involving Iran and other Muslim Majority countries at a war against Israel.
While Mohun Bagan’s local rivals, East Bengal FC who are languishing at the bottom in the ISL are plying their trade in the AFC Challenger League. The Red and Gold Brigade tasted a win after 2 and a half months beating Basundhara Kings of Bangladesh before salvaging a draw against Paro FC.
The Indian Women’s team led by experienced Santosh Kashyap had to bow out of the SAFF Championship in the semi-final encounter in a penalty shootout after the game ended 1-1 at full time.
November, particularly, will be an important month for Indian Football fans as the ISL have started to pick up pace and the clubs will be looking to re-strengthen themselves in the crucial month. East Bengal they are in a do-or-die game against Najmeh SC of Lebanon which will decide their fate in the third-tier club competition of the AFC.
For Manolo Marquez’s Blue Tigers, it will be a final dress rehearsal before the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers when India takes on Thailand in Hyderabad.
