Chennaiyin FC youth team to play in Norwich Mina Cup UK

Chennaiyin FC announced their partnership with Norwich in April 2024

Indian Super League (ISL) club Chennaiyin FC’s youth side are going to be part of the Norwich City Mina Cup that is going to start in October 2024. The English Football Club, Norwich City Academy took to their official Twitter handle to announce the development. 

They wrote, “Chennaiyin FC are the next side confirmed to be playing in the Norwich City Mina Cup UK in October.”

The tournament will feature U-12 boys who will travel to Norwich to play in the qualifying round of the tournament along with 15 other teams, which includes clubs like Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, Inter Milan, Liverpool, Benfica, Chelsea and Feyenoord amongst others. The tournament is scheduled to be played at Norwich City’s Lotus Training Centre. 

The tournament in October will be a qualifying event for the 2025 edition of the Mina Cup which will be held in Dubai. 

This platform will provide young talents of the Indian club to nourish their skills and play against some of the top-rated youth teams around the globe. 

Chennaiyin FC’s strategic partnership with Norwich City FC

In April 2024, Chennaiyin FC announced their strategic partnership with English Championship side Norwich City FC to develop mutual growth, innovation and football collaboration.

Both the clubs signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which was expected to bring experience, expertise, and unique footballing philosophies, along with the knowledge exchange, technical expertise, coaching methodologies, and player development strategies experience, expertise, unique footballing philosophies along with the knowledge exchange of technical expertise, coaching methodologies and player development strategies. 

There were also talks about active participation in the youth development programs, including talent identification processes and coaching clinics.

Additionally, the clubs showed eagerness to facilitate the exchange of programs and collaboration on joint marketing initiatives to engage diverse audiences and promote their vision.
