Downtown Heroes defeated New Hyderya in the final league match!

The Reliance Foundation Youth Sports (RFYS) Football Championship Kashmir 2025–26 in the Girls U-17 category concluded on Wednesday as Downtown Heroes defeated New Hyderya in the final league match at the TRC Football Stadium to maintain pole position and clinch the title.

The championship continues to serve as a vital platform for nurturing young footballing talent in Kashmir, providing structured competition, regular game time, and meaningful exposure, especially young girls in the region.

The 2025-26 edition in the U-17 girls category featured eight teams in total and the teams making it to the final round each received an opportunity to playing a minimum of seven matches across two league stages. At the end of the proceedings, Downtown Heroes emerged undisputed champions, finishing the tournament at the top of the table. Kashmir Arrows secured second place, edging out New Hyderya FC on goal difference after an intense battle for the runners-up position.

Adding to their dominant campaign, Downtown Heroes swept all three individual honours awarded at the tournament:

  • Golden Boot (Top Scorer): Mehnoor Shakeel
  • Golden Glove (Best Goalkeeper): Ziram Zubair
  • Golden Ball (Best Player of the Tournament): Mehnoor Shakeel

The RFYS Boys’ U-15 and U-17 championships, are also scheduled to conclude in the coming days, with only the last league stage left to be played amongst the top 4 teams in each category respectively.

The successful completion of the 2025–26 edition for the girls, marks another milestone in Reliance Foundation’s commitment to strengthening youth football and empowering young athletes through structured competition in the valley.
