Downtown Heroes announce squad for Durand Cup 2024

The Heroes will be aiming to show a strong showing in the tournament
Downtown Heroes are a club based in Srinagar, it currently competes in the JKFA Professional League. It was founded in 2020 by a group of young professionals to promote sports culture and steer the youth away from drug addiction.
Downtown Heroes FC aim to channel the energy of the region’s youth towards positive goals through sport. The club is named after the downtown area of Srinagar. Their motto is “Players are bred, not born”. As a football club, their highest achievement was finishing up as the runner-up in the Christmas Gold Cup in 2023.
The long-term vision for Fowntwon Heroes is to become a powerhouse of Kashmiri football and compete at the highest levels of Indian Football, bringing greater sporting glory to the state of Jammu & Kashmir.
The club also aims to produce players good enough to represent India at international tournaments. The club wishes to be a positive role model and source of aspiration for the valley’s youth. It aims to unite people across social and political divides through the power of football.
The Durand Cup 2024 squad for Downtown Heroes have been released and includes many young and experienced players in the squad. They have been drawn alongside two Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan Super Giant, East Bengal FC and Indian Air Force FT in Group A. The club participated in the 2023 Durand Cup as well but was not able to make it out of the group stage.
Downtown Heroes place a strong emphasis on positive values such as teamwork, integrity and community service. The club will face a very tough challenge in the group stage as their opponents have a lot of experience in playing in this tournament, but they can still give a tough fight to the opponent team in the upcoming tournament.
