Mohun Bagan vs Punjab FC: All-time head-to-head record | Durand Cup 2024

The two ISL clubs will face off on the 23rd of August.

The 2024 Durand Cup has now entered its knockout rounds, wherein the six table toppers and the two best second-placed teams, will take on one another to ultimately be enthroned as the Durand Cup winners. 

Mohun Bagan and Punjab FC will take on one another in the third quarter-final fixture on Friday, the 23rd of this month at the JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jamshedpur. 

Both the teams have been in quite decent form throughout the Durand Cup, with either of the two sides playing with their main squad. 

Mohun Bagan played against Downtwon Heroes and Indian Air Force en route to this quarter-final fixture, convincingly winning both ties. Their third and final group stage fixture was however cancelled, due to security reasons.

The reigning Durand Cup champions seem to be in pretty good shape, with their latest win being a 6-0 riot against Air Force. Jose Molina has already started to impress a lot with only two games in charge, but the former ISL winning coach will meet his first big challenge with Mohun Bagan on the 23rd against a well-oiled Punjab FC. 

The Shers are also playing quite decent football at the moment, winning against CISF and Mumbai City FC, and playing out a hard-fought draw against a formidable Kerala Blasters squad, led by the likes of Adrian Luna and Noah Sadaoui.

Despite not having their complete foreign contingent at their disposal, Punjab FC have done well so far in the competition, posing themselves as a strong contender for the title. 

All in all, it will be quite interesting to see which one of the two sides will triumph in Jamshedpur, and make their way into the semi-finals of the Durand Cup. On that note, let’s have a look at how the teams fared in all previous clashes.
