SC Delhi have made an excellent start to their maiden Durand Cup campaign and will look to finish the group stage on a high when they face Indian Air Force FT at the Birsa Munda Football Stadium in Ranchi on 10th August 2026, Monday. The Delhi-based side began their campaign with a 2-1 comeback victory over Jamshedpur FC, with Lalrinliana Hnamte scoring twice in five minutes to overturn the result

That victory was followed with a dominating 7-0 victory over Defenders FC, producing one of the biggest wins of the tournament so far. The key to this game was Brazilian forward Rodriguinho, who scored an extraordinary five-goal haul.

With two wins from two games, SC Delhi have already established themselves as one of the teams to watch in Group C and will now aim to carry that momentum into their final fixture.

SC Delhi look to secure their qualification

SC Delhi have made a perfect start to their Durand Cup campaign, winning both of their opening Group C fixtures. They began with a 2-1 comeback victory over Jamshedpur FC, with Lalrinliana Hnamte scoring twice in five minutes to turn the game around after Jamshedpur had taken the lead.

They produced an even more dominant performance against Defenders FC, cruising to a 7-0 victory, with Rodriguinho scoring five goals in a sensational individual display.

That leaves SC Delhi with six points and nine goals from two matches, giving them considerable momentum heading into their final group-stage fixture. Another victory against Indian Air Force FT would allow Tomasz Tchórz’s side to complete the group stage with a 100 per cent record, while also maintaining the attacking rhythm they have built over their opening two games. After scoring twice against Jamshedpur and then putting seven past Defenders, SC Delhi will be keen to carry that confidence into the knockout stages

Indian Air Force FT also have three points from their opening game, having defeated Defenders FC 2-1 in their Group C opener. Naorem Somananda Singh opened the scoring with a superb strike from outside the box before a KDS Sankalpa own goal doubled the Airmen’s advantage. Defenders FC pulled one back through NM Aflal, but Indian Air Force held on to claim all three points.

The result means the Airmen have already shown that they can compete in the group, but the challenge now becomes significantly tougher against an SC Delhi side that has scored nine goals in two games.

They will need a much more disciplined defensive display than Defenders managed while also finding a way to test a Delhi side that has conceded only once across its opening two matches.

A positive result would keep Indian Air Force FT firmly in the qualification picture and give them a chance to finish the group stage on a high, while a defeat could leave their progress dependent on the other results in the group.

The Durand Cup 2026 clash between Jamshedpur FC and SC Delhi will take place on Monday, August 10th, 2026, from 19:00 IST at the Birsa Munda Football Stadium in Jharkhand’s capital, Ranchi.

The match will kick off at 7 PM IST. It will be livestreamed on Sony LIV and be shown live on Sony Ten 2.
