East Bengal announce squad for Durand Cup 2024; Madih Talal & Dimitrios Diamantakos included

East Bengal are looking a strong force with the addition of their new players.

The Durand Cup 2024 squad for East Bengal FC has been revealed, and it includes newly added star players Madih Talal and Dimitrios Diamantakos. As drawn in the same group as their arch-rivals, the Red & Gold Brigade will have to contend with fierce opposition from teams like Mohun Bagan.

Regarding his team’s ability to compete in the Durand Cup, Carles Cuadrat is optimistic.

The East Bengal team is made up of both foreign stars and experienced Indian players. The addition of David David Lalhlansanga, Jeakson Singh, Madih Talal, and Dimitrios Diamantakos to the club provides a boost in the squad. East Bengal will aim to clinch the trophy with a superior side having experienced players.

French attacking midfielder Madih Talal led the list of assist contributors in the 2023–24 ISL after showcasing his abilities with Punjab FC. Greek center forward Dimitrios Diamantakos won the Golden Boot for the Kerala Blasters. Both players are competent at setting up chances for their teammates and scoring goals.

Along with Souvik in the midfield, Jeakson Singh’s inclusion will be crucial to the team’s midfield. These two players can work together as a compact midfield unit along with the attacking prowess of Madih Talal.
