The Gaurs will look to start their ISL 2024-25 season with a win.

The new season of the Indian Super League (ISL) kick-started on 13 September and has already seen some thrilling matches. On 17 September, Fatorda Stadium in Goa will play host to the first game between FC Goa and Jamshedpur FC in the 2024-25 season.

FC Goa have been one of the most dominant sides in ISL since it was introduced in 2014 while Jamshedpur FC have also won the League Shield once but their performances in the past couple of seasons have been a bit concerning.

Jamshedpur FC joined ISL in the 2017-18 season and since then we have witnessed numerous epic encounters between these two heavyweights across ISL, Super Cup and Durand Cup. Their first meeting came in the 2017-18 ISL season, where FC Goa defeated the Red Miners 2-1 in a thrilling showdown.

FC Goa’s biggest win over Jamshedpur FC came in the 2019-20 season when the high-flying Goan side led by Sergio Lobera thrashed Jamshedpur by a massive 5-0 margin. However, in the 2021-22 season, it was the peak Jamshedpur side under Owen Coyle that got the better of both ties between them by 3-1 and 1-0.

In ISL’s history, Jamshedpur FC and Goa faced each other 14 times with Goa winning eight of them. Jamshedpur won on 4 occasions. And two of them were stalemates. In competitions apart from ISL, they played against each other four times with both of them winning two matches each.
