Senegal proved why they are one of the top teams in the group despite their opening-day loss to Cameroon, registering two emphatic wins. They defeated Grenada 7-1 in the morning before securing a convincing 6-1 victory over Bahrain in the afternoon.
After losing 2-1 to India in the opening game of the day, Cameroon bounced back in style with a commanding 6-1 win over Laos. The victory propelled them back into the top three of the standings and kept them in contention for the top spot heading into the final day of the qualifying stage.
In other games, as mentioned earlier, Grenada pulled off a remarkable comeback against India, recovering from a 3-0 deficit to draw 3-3 in the final 10 minutes and earn their first point of the campaign.
Bahrain, who suffered a defeat against Senegal in their second game, also endured a disappointing first game, failing to beat Laos and having to settle for a 1-1 draw.
While India currently lead the standings, their clashes against Senegal and Bahrain on the final day will determine the final group standings. India, Senegal and Cameroon remain firmly in contention for the top spot, while Bahrain have an outside chance depending on the results of the other games.
