Forca Kochi win their first match in the Super League Kerala 2025
The bottom-placed Forca Kochi FC earned a dominating 4-1 victory against the fifth-placed Kannur Warriors FC in the Round 8 fixtures of the Super League Kerala. The historic five-goal thriller took place on the 23rd of November at the Jawahar Municipal Stadium.
Kannur Warriors started positively as Sinan broke the deadlock in the 4th minute to provide the hosts with an early ascendancy. However, this advantage did not last long as Sajeesh scored the equaliser, just ten minutes later, to bring the score to all square. In the 34th minute, Nijo Gilbert found the top corner after a brilliant team effort to provide Forca Kochi with the lead for the first time this season.
The visitors continued their momentum after the break, as Nijo Gilbert found the back of the net early in the second half to score the third goal for Forca Kochi. In the 66th minute, Abith marked the last nail in the coffin, scoring the fourth goal and putting the game to bed, etching a dominating 4-1 victory for the Forca Kochi side in the Super League Kerala 2025.
Forca Kochi lead at the break

Forca Kochi, still searching for their first point, started with grit, attacking from the wings with the services of Gino van Kessel. However, an attacking intent left spaces at the back, allowing the Warriors to break the deadlock in the 4th minute.
Sardinero provided a deceiving ball into the final third, which disrupted the entire Kochi backline. Ebindas, who failed to control the ball properly, attempted a shot at goal, which Jaimy somehow denied. The visiting side failed to clear away the rebound, and this paved the way for Sinan to find the opener.
In the 15th minute, Forca brought the scores back to level terms. Abdou Karim failed to properly mark during a Kochi corner, which kept Sajeesh unmarked. The forward clinically headed the ball to provide the visiting side with a much-needed advantage. In the 34th minute, Forca Kochi took the lead over their opponents for the first time in the Super League Kerala 2025.
Sreeraj beat the Warriors defender Manoj to provide a good cut back to Ajin, who cleverly flicked the ball to the 6-yard area. Nijo Gilbert was alert and wasted no time to win the ball and take a shot at the top corner, providing Forca with the advantage.
Later, Kannur, in a desperate attempt to win and keep their playoff hopes alive, kept attacking aggressively. However, to their dismay, the Forca Kochi defended as a unit and denied every attempt made by Kannur to take away their advantage.
Forca Kochi win their first match
Forca Kochi, built upon their momentum and scored their third goal in the 48th minute, and yet again Nijo Gilbert was on the scoresheet. To start the second half on a positive note Gifty Gracious provided a beautiful one-touch through ball to Nijo, who made an accelerated run with and took a shot at the bottom corner.
Around 15 minutes later, Abith scored the fourth goal for Kochi. Sajeesh, with his impressive footwork, provided the ball into the final third, which found the substitute, Abith. The U23 midfielder came in a one-on-one situation with the keeper and exceptionally placed the ball into the back of the net to provide the visitors with a comfortable two-goal cushion.
The Warriors, after trailing by two goals, slowly started to lose their flair, and everything that they touched went into vain. They struggled to regroup and breach the net, which would at least provide them with a point. At full-time, Forca Kochi clinched a famous victory against the strong Kannur Warriors FC, to register their first three points of the Super League Kerala 2025 in style.
