I-League 2 2024-25: Newly promoted SAT Tirur face familiar foes KLASA FC in season-opener

The initial list for games in the third tier of Indian football has been announced.
New faces and teams will be in action when the I-League 2 kicks off on 18th January 2025. The third-tier of Indian football has boasted surprise teams over the years and revealed the fixture list for its latest season after a gap of more than six months.
The 10-team league operates as the midpoint for promotion and relegation into the I-League and I-League 3 respectively.
Reigning champions Sporting Club Bengaluru achieved promotion to the second tier this season while Maharashtra Oranje FC and Mumbai Kenkre FC found their way into the fourth tier.
Diamond Harbour FC, SAT Tirur, KLASA FC, and Chanmari FC are the latest entrants into the I-League 2 after securing the top two spots in I-league 3 after 24 matches.

ONGC FC is the most successful side in the league’s history, having won two I-League 2 titles. Indian Super League (ISL) club Mohammedan SC has won the most number of matches in the league with 72 wins in 135 appearances in league history.
I-League 2 fixtures showcase huge promise
The league released its fixtures for the 2024-25 season a few months before kicking off the proceedings. The first game will feature the newly promoted SAT Tirur facing KLASA FC at the Kalyani Stadium in Malappuram, Kerala.
FC Bengaluru United will begin their title hunt with a clash against United Sports Club at the Bengaluru Football Stadium. The most anticipated fixture of the opening week will see I-League 3 champions Diamond Harbour FC against exciting Sporting Club De Goa in Goa on January 19.
One notable development will be the inclusion of the AIFF U-20 Team in place of Sudeva Delhi who withdrew from the competition this season. The new additions will face TRAU FC in Imphal on 19th January as they look to make a memorable impact in their first-ever season. Neroca FC will also be looking to stake a claim as they face Chanmari FC in their hunt for automatic promotion into the second tier of Indian football.
