Kerala United started their I-League 3 campaign in style.

Kerala United, one of the two representatives from Kerala in I-League 3, kicked off their campaign with a commanding 3-0 win against Dalbir Football Academy from Punjab. All three goals came in the second half, with Lalmuanawma adding the first goal and midfielder Craig Mangkhanlian scoring a brace.

The match began with both teams eager to take the lead. In an eventful first half dominated by Kerala United, the team created numerous chances but failed to convert.

The Dempo Academy ground pitch, battered by the rains, did not help the cause for either team. Dalbir Academy also struggled in the first half, which ended in a stalemate.

Both teams started with renewed vigor in the second half, but it was Kerala United who struck first. An in-swinging corner kick was nodded in by Lalmuanawma in the 55th minute, giving Kerala United the lead.

Following the first goal, Kerala United began to wrest control of the match and two more goals were added by Craig Mangkhanlian, who had a great outing in the middle of the park.

This win has put Kerala United in a prime position in Group B of the ongoing I-League 3. The team will now look to capitalize on this momentum in their upcoming tie against Oranje FC on 05-Sep-2024.
