Inter Kashi have started their I-league 2024-25 campaign in a fascinating style.
Inter Kashi have had a strong start to the 2024-25 I-League campaign by winning both their opening matches under veteran coach Antonio Lopez Habas.
That included a huge 5-1 thrashing of Delhi FC in their most recent clash, with the squad showing its potential to be one of the favorites to win the championship.
They will be playing their first away game of the season when they travel to face Shillong Lajong in their menacing Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on 5 December. Habas, for one, is still adapting to having managed in the ISL for so many years and even won three titles before taking a new step forward in managing an I-League club.
Ahead of the Shillong Lajong clash, he was asked about the differences he’s noticed in the quality of the Indian Super League (ISL) and I-League. Antonio Lopez Habas stated: “There are a lot of differences and we can tell the differences. The level of the foreign players (among the teams in the two leagues) are one thing in my opinion.
“Moreover, the very good players from the I-League want to go into the ISL as that is a natural selection all season long. I think we have players in my team who have the capability of playing in the ISL,” Antonio Lopez Habas also added.
Antonio Lopez Habas on improvements
Antonio Lopez Habas also believes his side still needs time to adapt to the new campaign, as he further claimed: “We’ve only played two matches in the competition so far. We need to learn more about the competition.
“Sometimes, this is a new competition and that makes it a different competition for the likes of Jonny Kauko, and Prasanth (K) who played in the ISL last season. They need to adapt to the conditions of the I-League. We have good professionals and we won’t have any problems with the adaption,” he also opined.
Inter Kashi can climb back to the top of the I-League table with a win over Shillong Lajong, who are winless in their first two games of the new campaign.
