The decision from this hearing will determine who will be crowned the I-League champions.

An emergency hearing has been scheduled for April 12 in the ongoing appeal between I-League club Namdhari FC, connected with player Cledson C. Silva, and the All India Football Federation (AIFF). The hearing was granted following a request from Inter Kashi to expedite proceedings, which were earlier set to be held on April 28.

The hearing, granted by Justice Rajesh Tandon, was ordered after a request on April 3 highlighted Inter Kashi’s concern over the delay in justice due to the pending appeal. Ms. Kollipara had requested a swift resolution in light of the upcoming hearing on the existing order dated March 25, 2025.

The mail from Justice Tandon reads, “In view of the above, in the interest of justice and in order to expedite the appeals, 12th of April 2025 is fixed for final hearing at 11:30 AM.” The involved parties have been directed to appear physically in South Delhi to attend the final hearing in the matter.

Namdhari FC were charged for fielding an ineligible player against Inter Kashi

Namdhari FC sit at the sixth spot in the I-League table.

The appeal involves two specific charges: first, a notice issued against player Cledson C Silva by the AIFF Disciplinary Committee and second, a notice regarding Namdhari FC allegedly fielding Silva as an ineligible player.

The AIFF Disciplinary Committee had found the club in breach and had awarded three points and three goals to Inter Kashi, overturning the result of the game. However, Namdhari FC lodged an appeal against Inter Kashi being awarded points and goals, therefore complicating matters for the Kashi Warriors in the I-League title race.

Churchill Brothers currently sit atop the I-League table with 40 points from 22 matches pending the resolution of the matter between Namdhari FC and Inter Kashi. With a promotion to ISL hanging in the balance, all eyes will be on Saturday’s proceedings for a resolution.
