Nili Perdomo reunites with his former club Gokulam Kerala FC before the 2025-26 I-League season.

Gokulam Kerala FC have received a major boost ahead of the upcoming I-League season, by getting the likes of Spanish attacking midfielder Nili Perdomo back into their ranks once again. The creative playmaker’s return adds experience and attacking flair to the side as the Malabarians gear up for the new campaign.

After the recent release of Matias Hernandez to the ISL side Kerala Blasters FC, the signing of Nili Perdomo will definitely boost the confidence of the I-league side Gokulam Kerala FC, it will strengthen their midfield and will add depth to their attacking options for the upcoming I-League season.

On Friday evening, Gokulam Kerala FC, the two times I-league champion side announced the return of the 31-year-old Spanish attacking-midfielder Nili Perdomo to the club for the upcoming I-League season.

Nili Perdomo has already played for the Gokulam Kerala earlier in the 2023-24 I-league season and is a quite familiar name in the Indian Football circuit. He is versatile, capable of operating as a right winger or right-back when required. But mainly operates as an attacking midfielder.

In 2023, Perdomo joined Gokulam from the Super League Greece club, Kallithea and had a quite good time at the I-league for the Malabarians.

He appeared for 15 matches in total for the Malabarians which also includes 4 matches in the Durand Cup and along with these appearances he had also scored 3 goals for them. After having a quite good one-year at the Gokulam Kerala FC he later on joined clubs like Chania, Panachaiki and Kalamata.

Perdomo originally belongs from the Las Palmas Canary Islands of Spain but have played for the UD Las Palmas’s youth team in his early days. Later on in 2012, he made his senior debut for their C-team and in the same year he was promoted to the reserves of the Segunda Division B.

He made his senior team debut for Las Palmas in Segunda Division against Deportivo Alaves in the year 2016. This was followed by his La Liga debut on February 2016 which came against Sevilla FC. Later on, he also played for Barcelona B as well as for the senior team of FC Barcelona in the year 2016-17.

He then moved on to play in the Super League Greece for sides like Platanias, Kallithea, Levadiakos and the Greek football league was the most successful part of his career where he played more than 100 matches scoring almost 24 goals. His senior career mostly had flourished in the Greek League, and he had established himself as a prolific and experienced midfielder who can attack and score goals when required.

He has also played for Bengaluru FC in the Indian Super League in the year 2020 before joining Gokulam in 2023. In the ISL for Bengaluru he had a very short spell with almost no impact for the blues.

How does this signing impact Gokulam?

The Spanish Midfielder has already played in the Indian Football circuit and knows the Indian Football conditions quite well. His earlier stint with the Malabarians was quite good as well, where he played 15 matches for them scoring 3 crucial goals.

He has vast experience of playing in the Spanish Football Leagues like La Liga, Greek Football Leagues and his added advantage is that he has the ability to score goals for his side when needed and at the same time can also produce, goal scoring opportunities from the midfield. He is a right-footed player and particularly known for his shooting and attacking style of play.

So, he will be the perfect No. 10 for the Gokulam Kerala side just before the upcoming I-League side and soon, he will reunite with his former club and will be ready to help his club to win the silverware for the third time.

With this signing, Gokulam Kerala FC continue to quietly rebuild their side just before the new season of the I-League, focusing on balance, adaptability, and a profile that fit Jose Hevia’s ideas rather than short-term glamour.
