The Malabarians will be facing a Dempo side who are placed ninth in the I-League standings this season. With 26 points in 21 league games this season, the side has had a strong showing this season after their recent promotion to the I-League.

Mohammedan SC had won the 2023-24 I-League title in some style as they recorded 52 points in 24 games. They were four points better off Sreenidi Deccan FC who finished with 48 points after a challenging campaign.

The 2024-25 season is however set for a grand stand finish with four teams still in with a chance of winning the title. Churchill Brothers SC, Gokulam Kerala FC, Real Kashmir FC and Inter Kashi (depending on results of AIFF’s ruling) are still in with a chance.

While promotion might be out of the equation, Gokulam Kerala FC have shown their quality over 21 weeks.
