I-League 2023-24: Inter Kashi edge past Aizawl FC in dramatic nine-goal fest

Inter Kashi registered a dramatic 5-4 victory over Aizawl FC to move further up in the I-League 2023-24 points table at the Kalyani Municipal Stadium on Monday, March 18, 2024. The winners were leading 3-2 at the half time. It was Inter Kashi’s third consecutive victory in the current campaign.
Having played 21 matches so far, debutants Inter Kashi have collected 36 points so far. While Mohammedan Sporting lead the table with 47 points, followed by Sreenidi Deccan FC (39 points), Real Kashmir FC and Gokulam Kerala FC also have 36 points each.
Former champions Aizawl FC, who are now left with an unimpressive 21 points from 19 matches, came alive in the second half to take a 4-3 lead by the 83rd minute. But Inter Kashi struck two more in the next few minutes through Spanish striker Mario Barco to take home full points.
While Edmund Lalrindika (3’), Gyamar Nikum (14’), Jordan Garrido (33’) and Mario Barco (86’, 89’) scored for Inter Kashi, Sumeet Passi (29’, og), Lalrinzuala Lalbiaknia (44’, 61’) and Lalbiakdika Vanlalvunga (83’) found the goals for the losers.
