"It just doesn't sit right", Twitter divided as AIFF Appeals Committee announces final verdict in Namdhari FC-Inter Kashi fiasco

Inter Kashi will further challenge this verdict at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
After a lot of drama, controversy and suspense, AIFF declared the verdict in favour of Namdhari FC, which in turn effectively proclaimed Churchill Brothers as the Champion of the I-League 2024-25 season. Despite Inter Kashi’s victory in the final game against Rajasthan United, they eagerly had to wait for the verdict on the Namdhari-Inter Kashi fiasco.
Churchill Brothers, on the other hand, had the fate in their own hands as a victory against Real Kashmir in the final game could have seen them emerge as the “Champions of I-League” regardless of the verdict.
After 10-man Namdhari got the better of Inter Kashi back in January, the Varanasi outfit appealed to the AIFF Committee, alleging that Namdhari fielded an ineligible player and hence the match should be cancelled and three points along with a +3 goal difference must be awarded to Inter Kashi.
Had AIFF given the verdict in favour of Inter Kashi, they could have been the New Champions of India. While a certain community on Twitter erupted in joy with the Goan side emerging as the I League Champions, some fans were shocked by this judgment.
Even Inter Kashi’s club statement on Twitter clearly stated that they would approach this matter further in the Court of Arbitration for Sport, and any celebration in the interim could ultimately prove to be premature.
Let’s take a look at some of the Twitter reactions from the fans.
