Rajasthan clinch their first win of the new IFL season.

The second matchday of IFL 2025-26 Matchweek 3 was an absolute feast for footballing fans. The first game of Matchday 8 saw Rajasthan FC clinch their first win of the season against ten-man Namdhai in a five-goal thriller.

Rajasthan were leading 2-0 until the hour mark, but Namdhari scripted a fairytale comeback after scoring twice. Lamine Moro got a red card in the 71st minute, and Namdhari fought till the last minute, but Amadou Soukouna went on to score the winner in the 96th minute for Rajasthan FC.

The second game took us to Aizawl, and the home team was on the verge of their first defeat, but the Mizoram outfit showed immense character by making a comeback twice in the game in the 43rd and 91st minutes to seal a hard-fought draw against Real Kashmir.

As things stand, Aizawl are lucky to remain unbeaten so far. The three teams from the Northeast remain atop the points table with Chanmari and Aizawl leading the table. Rajasthan United won a big game tonight, and that saw them climb up from the last position to the fourth spot directly.

For Namdhari, it was their first defeat after two consecutive draws and for Real Kashmir, this draw didn’t do any good to them as they remain in the lower echelon of the points table. With Shillong having a match tomorrow, all eyes will be on them to find a new table topper tomorrow.

What to expect in matchday 9 of IFL 2025-26:

Matchday 9 tomorrow will feature Gokulam Kerala and Sreenidi Deccan locking horns in the first game. This is an interesting game, as a win for Sreenidi Deccan can take them to the top spot.

The second game will feature Diamond Harbour and Shillong Lajong. It’s a golden opportunity for both teams to win the match as the top position will be at stake for the winners tomorrow. It will be an entertaining day tomorrow as things could massively change in the points table.
