Rajasthan United currently sit in the eighth spot in I-League.
As the Winter Transfer window kicked off, Rajasthan United have roped in promising midfielder Givson Singh from Odisha FC until the end of the season, with a mutual option to extend his stay. This transfer benefits both the player and the I-League club in their respective pursuits.
Givson, hailing from Moirang, has steadily climbed the ranks of Indian football. After developing his skills with Punjab FC (formerly Minerva Punjab) and the AIFF Elite Academy, he made a mark with Indian Arrows in the I-League, with two goals and two assists in the 2019–20 season.
Subsequently, he joined ISL side Kerala Blasters, gaining valuable top-tier experience, followed by a loan spell at Chennaiyin FC in early 2023. His most recent stint with Odisha FC in the ISL saw limited game time, playing only 22 minutes this season, prompting the need for a fresh challenge.
How does Givson Singh’s addition benefit Rajasthan United?
Rajasthan United, currently eighth in the I-League standings with two wins, one draw, and three losses from six matches, is looking to turn its season around under new head coach Walter Caprile. Meanwhile, Odisha FC sits fourth in the ongoing ISL season, vying for a playoff spot.
For Rajasthan, signing Givson represents an opportunity to inject youth and creativity into their midfield. For Givson, this move promises consistent game time in a competitive environment, crucial for his development and confidence.
Rajasthan United has shown glimpses of their potential with strong performances, including a quarter-final appearance in the Durand Cup last season and their recent triumph in the Baji Rout Cup. With Givson’s addition, the team gains a young yet experienced player capable of influencing games with his creativity and composure.
This partnership could not come at a better time. While Rajasthan aims to climb the league table, Givson gets a platform to prove his worth. With the mutual option to extend the deal, this move could become a cornerstone in the journeys of both Givson and Rajasthan United.
