Indian U20 Women’s team delivered a dominant display in Sweden
The India U20 women’s national team defeated Swedish club Älvsjö AIK 5-2 in a friendly match at the Bosön National Sports Centre, in Lidingö, Sweden, early in the morning of Thursday, March 5, 2026. The young tigresses started their friendly clash in spectacular fashion in Sweden, taking the lead within the very first minute of the match.
The early goal set the tone for the match, as the Indian U20 Women’s side started aggressively and caught the Swedish club’s defence off guard.

The early strike boosted the confidence of the Indian U20 women’s team as they continued to press forward with pace. Their attacking intent paid off again in the 20th minute when Lhingdeikim converted a penalty, doubling India’s lead. After two goals, Indian midfielder Cindy Colney scored the third goal for India in the 34th minute.
In the second half, Lhingdeikim scored her hat-trick in the 59th minute. The goal effectively sealed the contest and highlighted the forward’s importance in India’s attacking setup, and Sulanjana Raul (90’) scored one apiece to make it five for India.
Young Tigresses head coach Joakim Alexandersson made two changes to his starting XI, bringing in goalkeeper Monalisha Devi, and winger Bhumika Devi.
