Inter Kashi FC have signed an MOU with C.M Anglo Bengali College to build an AFC-rated stadium in Varanasi.

Inter Kashi on Tuesday confirmed the development of a permanent football ground in Varanasi, a move that provides long-term clarity for the club at a time of continued uncertainty in Indian football.

“When the football ecosystem was uncertain and people were asking where Inter Kashi would play, we chose to answer with action. A permanent home isn’t just infrastructure — it’s a statement of intent and belief in the future of Indian football,” Inter Kashi management added.

The ground is being prepared to host top-tier domestic fixtures and international matches, making Inter Kashi only the second club in the country after Jamshedpur FC to have a dedicated home venue capable of staging elite-level competition.

The development is expected to strengthen football infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh, a state that has traditionally lacked professional-standard venues and consistent pathways for young players. Club officials said the ground would also support grassroots and youth football through controlled access and structured programmes.

The presence of high-level football in Varanasi is likely to influence participation across age groups, particularly among younger players, with increased exposure expected to shift perceptions of football as a viable professional option.

Inter Kashi acknowledged the support of the Uttar Pradesh Football Sangh in facilitating the project, placing on record its appreciation for Secretary Md Shahid and President Arvind Menon for their continued guidance.

With the ground aligned to national and international standards, officials indicated that Varanasi could, in the future, be considered for marquee fixtures, including national team matches, subject to regulatory approvals.

The development marks a significant milestone for both the club and football in Uttar Pradesh.
