Inter Kashi announce squad for Durand Cup 2024; Arindam Bhattacharya & Nikola Stojanovic included

Inter Kashi appear to be a formidable side this season, with their armoury of Indian players.
I-League outfit Inter Kashi have revealed their squad ahead of their Durand Cup 2024 campaign. They made their I-League debut last season and concluded the season with a fourth-place finish behind Gokulam Kerala, who were placed third on the league table.
Inter Kashi also made their Super Cup debut last term. They exited the tournament in the group stage after sharing the spoils with Indian Super League (ISL) heavyweights Bengaluru FC while losing out on other occasions to FC Goa and Odisha FC in Group D.
Inter Kashi have been drawn into Group B of the Durand Cup 2024, alongside Bengaluru FC, Indian Navy and Mohammedan Sporting, the reigning I-League champions.
Former Mohun Bagan manager and three-time ISL title winner Antonio Lopez Habas has signed on with the Tripundra outfit as Carlos Santamarina’s successor, with plans to develop players from the Indian grassroots.
However, in the Durand Cup 2024, Inter Kashi will take the pitch under the tactical guidance of Assistant Coach Arata Izumi.
For the forthcoming event, the 22-man squad will only have one foreign player. This time, the squad will fall short of the brilliance of Indian international Edmund Lalrindika, who is now in pre-season training camp with Canadian club Atletico Ottawa ahead of Inter Kashi’s I-League 2024–25 season.
The defensive third will be strengthened by the expertise of Sumeet Passi, Sandeep Mandi, and Deepak Devrani, while veteran custodian Arindam Bhattacharya will handle the custodian duties. Sweden’s Fernandes may be seen serving as the link between the team’s strike force and midfield, with Mohammed Asif Khan and Haobam Tomba Singh assigned to deep-lying responsibilities in the middle third.
The front line will benefit from Bidhyasagar Singh’s extensive expertise as a former East Bengal target man. In addition to him, Chirag Bhujel, a talented youngster from Inter Kashi, and Harmanpreet Singh, the club’s recruit, will make a potential combination to lead the team in the final third.
Inter Kashi intend to make their debut run at the Durand Cup with a well-rounded squad. The combination of youth and experience on the team could work in their favor. Let’s have a look at the 22-man roster announced by Inter Kashi for their Durand Cup 2024 campaign.
