Inter Kashi come into the Punjab FC clash with back-to-back wins.

Antonio Lopez Habas’ Inter Kashi FC began the season on a three-game unbeaten run but then experienced a dip and lost their next three games.

They currently possess the potential to recover from a three-game losing streak by winning three straight games with a win versus Punjab FC.

Inter Kashi defeated Mohammedan SC 1-0 in their last encounter at Kolkata’s Kishore Bharati Stadium. While Habas’ team won all three points that night, their performance, particularly in the second half, was terrible. However, the head coach stated that he was pleased with the outcome, which earned them six points in two games.

Inter Kashi FC head coach Antonio Lopez Habas spoke with the media about the opposition and the team’s match plan as they prepare to face Punjab FC in Delhi.

Despite losing their first game, Punjab FC has been one of the teams to watch out for in the 2025/26 ISL season, losing only twice and winning three times in seven games.

They are coming off a 3-2 loss to Mohun Bagan SG in their most recent game, in which they squandered the lead twice and lost points. Habas respected the opposition and predicted a difficult encounter for both teams.

“I think that they are a team that is doing pretty well with a clear identity and important players. It will be a difficult match for us, and I expect it to be difficult for them as well. Always, matches are decided in key moments. I hope we take them better than our opponent,”, insisted Habas.

Habas on adapting to home and away conditions

Habas was asked if he needed to change his team’s tactics between home and away games, as they are scheduled to play an away game in Delhi after playing their last game at home.

The Inter Kashi FC head coach, ironically, insisted that he doesn’t need to do anything because the team plays almost every game away from home.

“For us, it’s no different because we don’t change our tactical plan for away because we always play away. It’s not ideal, but it’s what it is,” stated Habas.

While Inter Kashi is used to playing direct football, relying heavily on their ability to keep things tight at the back and take advantage of set-piece and counter-attacking opportunities in the attack, doing so against Punjab FC would be difficult, given the quality of the Punjab attackers.

Habas discussed how his team responds to opponents’ abilities while remaining in tune with their tactics.

“You have to keep the truth to the idea of the team, tactical idea of the team. It’s normal that every match you change depending on the opponent. You have to adapt a determined thing for the opponent,” added Habas.
