ISL 2025-26: Green light in Kochi as Kerala Blasters vs Mumbai City clash back on track

Kerala Blasters will play their first home game of ISL 2025-26 tomorrow
After hours of uncertainty regarding the Indian Super League (ISL) 2025-26 match between Kerala Blasters FC and Mumbai City, the Blasters have provided an official announcement confirming that the match will be played as scheduled.
The uncertainty and speculation started on the 20th of February when GCDA revised the agreements and increased the stadium rent to 4.2 lakhs from the previously decided 2 lakhs. This added up to the financial burden of the Blasters, and additionally, the non-payment of previous years’ debt added to the tensions between the two parties.
What happened earlier?
Earlier today, uncertainty surrounded the pre-match arrangements involving Kerala Blasters FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi after stadium security officials cited pending changes in the agreement between the club and the Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA).
The situation escalated when the Kerala Police asked members of the media to vacate the press room ahead of the scheduled pre-match press conference on February 21 and subsequently locked the facility due to the unresolved disagreement between the two parties.
However, the matter has now been resolved. Discussions between the stakeholders have reached clarity, and all arrangements for the match have been finalized. The game is set to proceed as scheduled, with operations returning to normal at the venue.
