After much debate surrounding the future of the ISL, the new season of the Indian Super League is finally set to begin on February 14th. The current state of Indian football is certainly not good news for the fans. In this situation, the ISL’s delay midway through the season has only added to the concerns.

The 12th edition of the Indian Super League will be played as a shortened campaign, running until May 17 and featuring a total of 91 matches in a single round-robin format. Unlike previous seasons, there will be no home-and-away legs, play-offs, or cup finals.

Instead, the 14 participating teams, 13 returning sides along with newly promoted Inter Kashi, will face each other once, playing 13 matches each. At the end of the league phase, the team finishing at the top of the table will be declared champions.
