ISL 2025–26 Media Rights: Follow Live as AIFF opens Technical Bids

AIFF will open technical bids at 11 AM.

The prolonged uncertainty surrounding the Indian Super League’s (ISL) broadcast future is now on the verge of being resolved. AIFF released the RFP for the ISL 2025-26 media rights on January 18, 2026, with the clarification window closing on January 27. The federation addressed all written queries a day later, on January 28, bringing the pre-bid process to an end.

The deadline for bid submissions expired on February 1 at 5:00 PM IST. With the process now moving into its next phase, AIFF is set to open the technical bids later this morning at 11:00 AM IST on February 2. Subsequently, the commercial bids of those who clear the technical evaluation will be opened later in the day at 5:00 PM IST.

As per sources aware of the process, the federation has attracted strong interest from multiple major players.

“AIFF have received several bids, with prominent names such as JioStar, ABP Network, FanCode, and UK-based sports consultancy Two Circles in the mix. In addition, two production houses have also submitted their bids,” a source told Khel Now.

However, bids from Zee Sports and Sony Sports, both of whom were present at the pre-bid meeting, had not been confirmed at the time of reporting. Sony Sports had reportedly requested an extension to submit its proposal, but the federation declined the request.

What is the eligibility criteria for the bidders?

AIFF has defined detailed, point-wise eligibility conditions to ensure only credible entities bid for the Indian Super League media rights.

  • Only television broadcasters or digital platforms with at least three years of operational experience are eligible to submit bids.
  • Each bidder must report a minimum net worth of ₹10 crore for the 2024–25 financial year.
  • Bidders are also required to meet a revenue benchmark, with an average annual turnover of at least ₹10 crore across the 2022–23, 2023–24, and 2024–25 financial years.
  • Consortium bids are permitted, with up to three entities allowed to form a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV).
  • One member must be appointed as the Lead Entity and must hold a minimum 51 percent equity stake in the SPV’s paid-up share capital.

What are the Rights on offer in the ISL media package?

The RFP packages the Indian Super League’s media rights into a single, all-encompassing offering. This includes live television coverage, digital and OTT streaming, as well as mobile transmission rights. In addition, the winning bidder will take full charge of world-feed production and end-to-end matchday programming.

Furthermore, the AIFF has made it mandatory to deliver both clean feeds and fully commercial-ready feeds. These broadcasts must feature commentary, on-screen graphics, integrated data, and dedicated studio programming. Importantly, the rights extend beyond domestic borders, which means bidders must submit a well-defined plan for international distribution.

Who has submitted bids for ISL 2025–26 broadcasting rights?

According to sources, AIFF has received bids from Star Sports, ABP Network, FanCode, UK-based consultancy Two Circles, and two production companies.

Did Sony Sports and Zee Sports submit bids?

Both Sony Sports and Zee Sports attended the pre-bid conference, but their bids were not confirmed at the time of opening. Sony requested additional time, which AIFF declined.

When will AIFF open the ISL broadcast bids?

The bids will be opened on 2 February 2026 at 11:00 AM in New Delhi.

Are consortium bids allowed?

Yes. Up to three entities can form a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), with one Lead Member holding at least 51% equity.
