Lively contest that lacked the final touch

The visitors made a bright start, testing Odisha early. In the opening minute, Tomba Singh forced goalkeeper Amrinder Singh into a sharp low save from distance, setting the tone for an evenly matched battle.
Odisha gradually grew into the contest. Rahul KP fired over from range following a swift transition orchestrated by Lalthathanga Khawlhring. Moments later, Suhair VP headed over from close range after a teasing set-piece delivery by Isak Vanlalruatfela.
The hosts continued to threaten from dead-ball situations. Thoiba Singh won a free kick on the right and later headed narrowly wide from Khawlhring’s delivery. Suhair again failed to hit the target from another promising situation. At the other end, Planas saw his close-range effort blocked by a resolute Odisha defence.
Just before the interval, Vanlalruatfela tested Inter Kashi goalkeeper Lluis Tarrés with a low drive from distance, but the custodian gathered comfortably as both teams went into the break level.
The second half followed a similar pattern. Rohit Danu had a header blocked early on, while Vanlalruatfela came closest for the Juggernauts just after the hour mark, only to see his tight-angle effort denied by defender David Humanes.
In the 73rd minute, Danu dragged a shot wide after being picked out by Prasanth Mohan. Deep into stoppage time, he tried his luck from distance again, but his effort sailed just over the crossbar.
Despite Odisha registering nine attempts and Inter Kashi eight, only two shots on target were recorded by each side. Rahul KP’s lively performance earned him the Player of the Match award.
Odisha FC & Inter Kashi FC gets their first point of the season

Both teams pushed hard in the closing stages, with Inter Kashi looking slightly more threatening in the final ten minutes. However, neither side could find the decisive touch.
The goalless draw ensures both Odisha and Inter Kashi open their accounts for the season, sharing the spoils after a disciplined and evenly contested battle in Bhubaneswar.
