ISL 2025-26: Oscar Bruzon looked frustrated after 2-1 defeat against Jamshedpur FC

Coyle’s Jamshedpur end East Bengal’s winning run in ISL 2025-26.
Its job done for Jamshedpur FC in Kolkata, as they mount a comeback to claim three points against East Bengal FC. Edmund Lalrindika broke the deadlock in the 40th minute for the Torchbearers.
But in the second half due to some defensive lapses, the Red and Gold Brigade gave away 2 goals to taste their first defeat of this season in Indian Super League Season (ISL) 2025-26.
Stephen Eze brought the game back on level terms for the Red Miners. Then Rei Tachikawa came off the bench and scored the winning goal within four minutes and stunned East Bengal.
With this win Jamshedpur FC climbed up to the first position in the points table and ended East Bengal’s winning run in the ISL campaign this season.
After the 2-1 defeat against the Men of Steel, East Bengal FC head coach Oscar Bruzon addressed the media.
Oscar Bruzon gave a detailed analysis of their 2-1 defeat against Jamshedpur FC in ISL 2025-26

Oscar Bruzon was asked to analyze the reason behind his team’s first defeat in this year’s ISL Championship against the Red Miners at home turf.
He stated: “That is our performance today on the game. We didn’t start the game today in right feet. They played really well. They also won the second balls and put pressure on us. Jamshedpur players were also controlling the central midfield area quite well and winning all the 50-50 battles today. We missed our fluidity in the midfield today. Even our defense was pushed back and they were in full control of the game. We also failed to use the wings today.”
“I am not happy how we conceded the first goal from a corner. And against the run of play we also conceded the second goal. Both the goals were super goals, but we should be good in marking in the edge of the box and allowed them to create those chances. They utilized the chances that were created through our mistakes in the backline.”
“About the miss of Ezzejjari today in the first half I think the game was decided by tactical decisions. In the first half the first fifteen minutes they were dominating a lot, holding back the ball, after that we came back in the game and also scored one goal. But again in the second half they were creating a lot pressure through the central areas, and we gave away a lot of corner kicks and they capitalized on those set pieces. We need to digest this defeat and look forward to our next game.” he also added.
Oscar also gave his viewpoints on taking off Youssef Ezzejjari in the last few minutes of the game.
The gaffer stated: “I don’t want to clarify all these in the press conference as these are all personal decisions. But again, playing an ISL game at 5 PM it is really difficult for the players to play for a long time in these weather conditions. We went with four foreigners, so keeping in mind the workload management we have to give proper rest and game time to all the players.”
“Regarding Anton he is training with the team since the last week. He has the potential, and can do better in the upcoming ISL matches.” he also added.
Oscar Bruzon praised the Jamshedpur Attack and Back line after their defeat against the Red Miners in ISL 2025-26
Oscar Bruzon explained: “Yes both Madih and Messi played really well. They’re quality players, created a lot of pressure on our central areas. Their wingers played well, even their defense was so good at times that we couldn’t penetrate and created some opportunities. They were really good in all the departments, competed well and were better team on the field today.”
“And I’m a bit frustrated today with some of the decisions like if we have got that penalty decision in our favour we could have score from that one and go ahead and remain undefeated. It’s not by luck that we have won the first two matches. But it happens in a competitive league like this, we lose some and we win some. We need to focus on our next game which is against FC Goa. They are also a strong team in the ISL Championship with some very good quality players, so it will be a difficult task for us.”
“Yes, today we missed a lot of goal scoring opportunities because Jamshedpur were really solid in their defense and midfield areas. I think after scoring the first goal, we should have score the second one, but we couldn’t capitalize on the chances that we’ve created but they did.”
“And yes we are also missing the services of some key players like Kevin, Saul and Mahesh which is affecting our game. Jamshedpur infused some of their foreigners from the bench into the game in the last few minutes of the match but due to injuries we were left with only two foreigners on the field. We are improving day by day and game by game.
“From here on I think we need to improve our game and can only grow well. We still have three more home games before the FIFA International break in March, and would like to win all these matches, grab all the three points and comeback on the higher positions of the points table.” he finished off.
