SC Delhi and Kerala Blasters FC eye for their first win at the national capital.

The Phoenixes and Tuskers are yet to win a match this season
The stage is set at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Delhi, for a bottom-table clash, as two teams who are on the brink of relegation face off against each other. Sporting Club Delhi will lock horns against Kerala Blasters FC on the 5th of April 2025, at 5:00 PM IST, as the Indian Super League (ISL) 2025-26 action continues after the international break.
Sporting Club Delhi, with two draws in their five games, are in the 12th position with two points, while the Blasters, with just one draw in their six matches, remain in the 13th position with just a point in hand, with a goal difference of -6 and -7. respectively.
As both teams face off against each other for this intense head-to-head showdown at the capital city, after the international break, either side will be hoping to fetch all three points and keep themselves away from the relegation battle.
The Stakes
Sporting Club Delhi

Sporting Club Delhi, after two positive results in their last two encounters against Mumbai City FC and Jamshedpur FC, will be highly motivated for their match against the Tuskers. The Phoenix will be looking forward to building upon the momentum and finding their first win of the season.
With two points in hand, Delhi are in the 12th position of the group table. With one extra match remaining, due to the postponement of their match against Odisha FC, a win would provide SC Delhi with the much-needed relief of moving far away from the dogfight of the relegation, which could potentially cause trouble for them in the later stages of the season.
Kerala Blasters FC

Kerala Blasters FC, after a disappointing season so far, fetching only one point out of the possible eighteen points, parted ways with the head coach David Catala and his backroom staff.
Following this, former Bengaluru FC and Punjab FC head coach, Ashley Westwood, joined the club for the remainder of the season.
The gaffer’s first assignment will be to secure the best result in their match against SC Delhi, an opponent with a relatively similar track record as the Blasters.
With just one draw in their six matches, the Tuskers are in the 13th position, one spot away from relegation.
Hence, Ashley Westwood would be hoping for nothing less than a win at Delhi, before it becomes too late.
Team News
Sporting Club Delhi is expected to have its full roster for their home match against Kerala Blasters FC, except for Mohammed Rafi, whose availability for the match is yet to be known.
Kerala Blasters will miss the services of Victor Bertemou and Marlon Roos as both players are suspended for a red card offence in their previous encounters.
The chances of Korou Singh being available for the match is also haywire. Apart from these, all the players are expected to be available for selection for the SC Delhi clash.

Players To Watchout
SC Delhi – Matija Babovic

The Serbian striker of SC Delhi, Matija Babovic, will be the player to watch out for in the match against Kerala Blasters FC. The striker, with over two years of experience in Indian football, has scored one goal and assisted once in his five appearances for Sporting Club Delhi.
With a good presence of mind and a great awareness of the game, Babovic’s performance will be instrumental in crafting the offensive initiatives of SC Delhi in their clash against the Tuskers.
In their previous encounter against Jamshedpur FC, Babovic was cheeky enough to flick the ball to Joseph Sunny in the final third, which helped them to secure a goal, which fetched them a point against a strong Jamshedpur side.
If Babovic can shine against the Blasters, who are yet to find a perfect defensive combination, he could potentially lead the Phoenixes to their first Indian Super League 2025-26 victory.
Kerala Blasters FC – Ndiaye Fallou

The Kerala Blasters FC defender Ndiaye Fallou is expected to be the difference maker for the Blasters in their match against Sporting Club Delhi.
Arriving midway through the season as the replacement of Oumar Bah, Ndiaye has been one of the brightest sparks for the Blasters this season.
The arrival of Ndiaye in the Blasters’ defense helped to relatively strengthen the Blasters’ backline, even though there is still room for improvement.
Along with doing his defensive duties, Ndiaye has also ventured deep into the attacking third to create trouble for the opponents. In the last match against Punjab FC, Fallou scored the solitary goal for the Blasters with his towering header, which helped the Blasters score a compensatory goal at Kochi.
If the defender can marshall the Blasters’ backline effectively and keep the SC Delhi strikers Joseph Sunny and Babovic under control, along with making some contributions in the final third, he could turn out to be a potent threat for the hosts.
