ISL 2025-26 : Sporting Club Delhi Complete Squad for upcoming season

Sporting Club Delhi gears up for their maiden season in the ISL

SC Delhi are all set to kick off their maiden Indian Super League campaign, with their opening fixture scheduled away from home on February 15. This is not just a club showing up to participate, but a club arriving with the intent to make an impact in their debut season.

This marks a significant moment for the club, which rebranded from Hyderabad FC ahead of the 2025–26 season, as it begins in a new era with its first major signings of the current ISL cycle.

Head coach Thomas Thorz has a clear philosophy. His teams are typically built around young, high-energy players, supported by a core of seasoned professionals and this transfer window followed that blueprint to the same philosophy. Alongside emerging talents, the club brought in domestic players with prior Indian Super League experience, adding much-needed league know-how to the squad.

What surprised everyone however, was the club’s approach in the transfer market. While several teams remained cautious with spending on players, SC Delhi showed ambition, investing decisively to underline their determination to make an impact in their inaugural season.

Despite a few notable departures, SC Delhi and Thorz have assembled a strong and balanced squad heading into the new campaign. But a key defender, Mohammed Rafi, has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to an injury. He was a key figure in Delhi’s backline, giving leadership and experience.

SC Delhi saw a reshuffle in the goalkeeping department ahead of the new season. Arshdeep Singh Saini completed a move to Punjab FC, while Aaryan Saroha departed after signing for East Bengal FC.

Continuity, however, has been maintained with Karanjit Singh staying on at the club,SC Delhi have also brought in Vishal Yadav, a young but highly promising goalkeeper who adds depth and competition between the posts.

Defenders :

Ashutosh Mehta

SC Delhi have retaines the core of their defensive unit from last season. Familiar faces such as Alex Saji and Manoj Mohammad continue at the club, providing stability to the system. In a major setback, Mohammed Rafi, a reliable defender for SC Delhi, has been ruled out for the season due to an injury.

To strengthen the defensive line further, the club made a few key additions during the window. Clarence Fernandes returns from a loan to add depth and versatility, while Rafael Ribeiro brings foreign experience and physical presence. The signing of Ashutosh Mehta and Gogou is another advantage, adding leadership, pace, and proven Indian Super League experience to the backline.

Midfielders :

SC Delhi have reshaped their midfield with a mix of continuity and new overseas quality. Andrei Alba departed during the window, while Ayush Adhikari and Issac Vanmalsawma were retained to provide balance and familiarity in the centre of the pitch. To strengthen the unit, the club added Ghanaian midfielders Abdul-Halik Hudu and Ebenezer Amoh, both arriving from Rajasthan United FC. Their inclusion adds physicality, energy, and experience to the middle of the park, while Augustine Lalrochana further boosts the squad with attacking drive and versatility.
