ISL Matchweek 3 ends in stalemate as final day produces two draws

Odisha FC shared spoils with Chennaiyin FC in the first game of this week’s Sunday ISL double header. The Marina Machans created the majority of the chances in the first half but couldn’t find the back of the net until the dying minutes of the first half.

Elsinho scored off Farukh Choudhary’s pass from the corner and put his side in the lead. Skipper Carlos Delgado brought the game back on level terms in a similar fashion in the second half as both teams walked away with a point each.

The second game of the evening witnessed a tough contest between Mumbai City FC and NorthEast United FC. The Highlanders looked in control from the get-go with the Islanders creating a few chances here and there.

Jithin MS broke the deadlock with just three minutes into the second half and gave NorthEast United a well-deserved lead. Just when it seemed that Juan Pedro Benali’s side would take all three points, Lallianzuala Chhangte came up with an equaliser and drew the game.
