ISL 2025-26: Updated points table, most goals, and most assists after Punjab FC vs Chennaiyin FC

The Shers secure a much-needed win against Chennaiyin FC

Punjab FC secured a narrow 1-0 win over Chennaiyin FC in front of their loyal fans in the ISL. It was a tight affair throughout the match, but it was Lalrinliana Hnamte’s own goal that sealed the deal for the home side. Punjab FC began on the front foot and came up with back-to-back chances, with Effiong Nsungusi leading the attack.

The Shers missed a lot of shots across both halves while Chennaiyin FC tried their luck on a few occasions. The Marina Machans took nine shots, but only two of those were on target, while the hosts racked up 16 shots. Chances were being created on both sides of the pitch until the ball took a touch of Hnamte and went into the back of the net as Punjab FC wrapped up a 1-0 win in the ISL.
