NorthEast United FC defeated Jamshedpur FC who were unbeaten in ISL 2025-26 so far

The Indian Super League (ISL) returned to Guwahati after 409 days and it was indeed worth the wait. NorthEast United FC finally picked up their first win of the season, and it had to come in front of their home fans.

The Highlanders wrapped up a 2-1 win at home as tribute to the great Zubeen Garg. Andy Rodriguez opened the scoring with a miraculous free kick before Messi Bouli restored parity for the visitors. Andy unleashed another screamer and put his side ahead in the tie within a minute.

The second game witnessed Mumbai City FC pull off a win away from home against Inter Kashi. Ayush Chhikara created the first chance of the game, but the keeper had it covered.

Jorge Ortiz also tried his luck with a shot from outside the box, but Lluis Tarrés saved it. Noufal broke the deadlock with just six minutes into the second half before Rohit Danu brought the game back on level terms only for Lallianzuala Chhangte to score the winner in the next minute.

Mohun Bagan SG lead the pack with thirteen points while Jamshedpur FC take the second position with twelve points. Mumbai City FC are ranked third with eleven points while East Bengal FC have dropped down to fourth with eight points.

FC Goa and Bengaluru FC take the fifth and sixth spot respectively with eight points each.

NorthEast United have been promoted to seventh with six points while Inter Kashi have dropped down to eighth with five points.

Punjab FC and Chennaiyin FC take the ninth and tenth spot respectively. Odisha FC took the 11th spot and 12th position was held by Kerala Blasters.

SC Delhi are ranked 13th on the standings and Mohammedan Sporting still find themselves at the bottom of the table.

  • Anirudh Thapa (Mohun Bagan SG) – 2 assists
  • Liston Colaco (Mohun Bagan SG) – 2 assists
  • Subhasish Bose (Mohun Bagan SG) – 2 assists
  • Madih Talal (Jamshedpur FC) – 2 assists
  • Nikhil Poojary (Bengaluru FC) – 2 assists
