Bengaluru FC

The Blues started their ISL 2026-27 campaign with a 3-2 win against Delhi SC in front of their home crowd. Bengaluru FC trailed 2-1 at half-time, but they came out with a better game plan in the second half and eventually won with a Menno Koch goal in the 89th minute.
Pep Muñoz’s side played an attacking brand of football, taking 27 shots. However, their defence seemed frail at times, and they’ll need to work on it to finish in the top six by the end of the season.
Chennaiyin FC

The Marina Machans drew 1-1 with FC Goa in their season opener. Clifford Miranda’s side started the game slowly and came to life in the second half. While they had more possession, one thing that CFC lacked was the fact that they didn’t create enough chances.
Yes, Irfan Yadwad did score a wonder goal, but apart from that, Chennaiyin FC didn’t create enough chances for Ramon Tanque and were not pushing a lot of people forward in attack. They will have to sharpen their attack if they want to seize one of the playoff spots this season.
Team News
Glan Martins was substituted early against FC Goa, and his availability is in question for Chennaiyin FC’s upcoming game.
Bengaluru FC, on the other hand, has a fully fit squad at Pep Munoz’s behest.

Player to Watch
Ryan Williams (Bengaluru FC)

Ryan Williams has a fabulous record against Chennaiyin FC. The Indian international has scored four goals in his last four matches against Chennaiyin. Ryan looked sharp against SC Delhi and also registered an assist against his name.
Playing in front of the Bengaluru faithful, expect the 32-year-old to have a spring in his step against BFC’s arch-rivals.
Nikola Stojanovic (Chennaiyin FC)

While Nikola Stojanovic had an ordinary game against FC Goa in Chennaiyin FC’s ISL opener, the box-to-box midfielder did show glimpses of what he can enable for his forwards. Nikola also had a great preseason, scoring in friendly games leading up to the season.
With BFC’s defence not at its best, Nikola might be the trump card for Chennaiyin FC.
