Inter Kashi 0-3 SC Delhi: Key Takeaways from ISL 2026-27 clash

SC Delhi continue their winning streak with a statement victory over Inter Kashi away from home

Inter Kashi FC lost their 4th match of their season, when they were defeated 0-3 at the Baledwadi Stadium in Pune by SC Delhi in their Indian Super League (ISL) 2026-27 match.

For the first 68 minutes of the game, the match remained to be a contest. Then Juan Peña rose at the near post, where Manoj Mohammad’s cross found him, and a team already running on fumes had nothing left to give.

SC Delhi’s 3-0 win in Pune reads as a rout on the scoresheet, but the story is subtler and, for Inter Kashi, more worrying, who are still a side that created multiple chances, but couldn’t register a single shot on target at their home stadium.

Both teams have a huge contrast in finishing

Carlos Fortes scored the first goal against Inter Kashi FC.

Delhi were not flawless. Mohammed Aimen dragged two efforts wide from distance and inside the box, Richard Ndayishimiye curled narrowly past the right post, and both Peña and Lalrinliana Hnamte were denied by Shubham Dhas late on.

What separated the sides was the quality of the moments that did land. Fortes’s sixth-minute finish and Rodriguinho’s late strike came from central positions inside the area, the kind of chances Delhi manufactured repeatedly.

Inter Kashi’s evening was the mirror image. Chaudhari’s header off the left post in first-half stoppage time was the closest they came, and it will haunt them, but it was the exception. Chaudhari’s earlier attempt from the centre of the box went off target, Sumeet Passi and Ayush Chhikara were both blocked.

Later on in the game, Thoi Singh and Jitendra Singh missed the frame, and Chhikara’s 93rd-minute header from a Sreekuttan corner sailed over the SC Delhi goal. Plenty of shots, no work for Nora Fernandes in the Delhi goal.

Rodriguinho’s Masterclass

Carlos Fortes, Juan Pena & Rodriguinho scored for SC Delhi in their ISL fixture against Inter Kashi FC.

The Brazilian was the connective tissue of Delhi’s night. His pass opened Fortes up for the early goal, and he kept finding pockets between Inter Kashi’s lines. His effort on the stroke of half-time forced a sharp save from Dhas, and Peña’s earlier pass into his path showed how freely he roamed.

Then came the finish: a left-footed strike into the bottom-right corner at 89′, arriving unmarked in the centre of the box. A creator who also scores late is the profile of a player who decides matches, not just influences them.

Aerial Superiority and Delivery

Peña’s 74th-minute header was the match’s hinge. Mohammad’s cross was pinpoint, but the finish was made possible by Inter Kashi’s loose marking. Peña found space in the middle of the area with the freedom to attack the ball and power it into the bottom-left corner.

Inter Kashi had been nervy at set pieces and crosses all night, and Delhi targeted that weakness. Peña had already threatened with a header in the third minute, a warning that went unheeded.

Inter Kashi’s Growing Crisis

Inter Kashi were unable to make any attempts on target against SC Delhi.

Carlos Vaz Pinto now has one point from five games and only 3 goals scored so far in the season. The midfield-to-attack link has been one of their biggest failures. Passes into the final third rarely produced clean shooting chances, and Vaz Pinto’s changes of Sourav Das, Manvir Singh and Sreekuttan altered the personnel more than the pattern.

Defensively, Dhas made at least three necessary saves, but still ended up conceding three. This is a telling sign of how often he was left exposed. The gap between the first and second goals was just a few minutes of Delhi pressure at the right moment.

The Phoenixes keep rising higer

For Tomasz Tchórz, this is a second consecutive statement. Following the comeback against Mumbai City, a clean sheet is a useful marker for a side that conceded twice against the Islanders. The balance of attack and defence suggests top-table ambitions are credible rather than hopeful. The next test is whether they can repeat this against opponents is who defend the box better.

For Inter Kashi, the reset must be tactical and immediate: a more direct route to Chaudhari and Chhikara, tighter protection of the penalty area, and a midfield that supplies shots rather than hope. Without early points in the next few fixtures, a difficult start becomes a campaign defined by catching up.
